Tungsten IS breakable....

Really fast. Jon just called me from work telling me that he fell at the Ellsworth building (he wasn't hurt at all). He caught his fall with his hand and his wedding ring (made out of tungsten- the metal that never breaks or scratches) broke in half! It didn't have a scratch on it, which is impressive, but he was really nervous to call me, hehe. I'm just glad he's not hurt. :-) No matter what dad said during our wedding toast about our marriage being eternal because of the type of ring Jon has, it's not true- we could be wearing twisty ties and still have an eternal marriage. :-) Jon, don't worry about it. We'll figure something out. Love you.

I bet you could get a new one from the place you bought it. Who knew it would break? I had heard that if you have a tungsten ring and you get too fat to take it off anymore, the only way to get it off is to cut your finger off! You sure showed them.

Well the Titanic was made not to sink and look what happened. But as a side note, I don't remember the ring to be of real eternal importance yes its a symbol of love but you can't take it with you! I have gone thru about 3 different wedding bands for him so don't feel bad. The first one that we actually used on our wedding day was a borrowed one from the jeweler (remember Bro. McClain our jeweler) because the original one was not ready yet, the one I did pick out and eventually got for him got lost somewhere, then once in VT we got him another one and he doesn't wear it not because he doesn't want to, but that it gets in the way when he plays guitar and a pain to put it on and off all day long probably how he lost the first, we've agreed it doesn't really matter we know we are married and God knows we are too. Jon, glad you're okay, its one thing for a ring to be broken but your bones what a royal pain!

Amazing! I've heard of it cracking or breaking, but never in half! I was researching this for our customers' info, and it's valuable to know that this can actually happen.

Mine just broke in half this weekend. Had a similar experience where I believe i just slammed my palm on a counter and it split right in half. Really dissapointed right now in this as it was a beautiful ring with diamonds.

I had a second ring break this past weekend. I dropped it on a tile floor. Maybe the inset diamonds created a weakness.
